President-elect Barlow Buescher called the meeting to order in the absence of ill President Tom George. Tom left Barlow with notes for both him and the bulletin writer. It is a hope that these notes help us get all the important information to you, whether at the meeting or not.
I am a terrible speller. Phonetics never spoke to me as a way to learn. I also have mild dyslexia, so words and letters swim in my head. I have always relied on the handy spell check to save the day, but what happens when you spell a word so badly that spell check offers no solution? That is what happened when I spelled sergeant incorrectly on my meeting outline during my time as President. I was then lauded by the bulletin writers for my error. So, I will try very hard not to make fun of Tom for his misspelling of just about half the names of Lakewood Rotarians in his notes. To Tom’s credit, English is his second language, and it is quite a confusing language at that. My goal here is to spell every name right so that Tom and the bulletin writers and publishers will start to pick up the right spelling going forward.
