All About Lakeood

The Key for April 3, 2026
The meeting room was abuzz with pre-meeting chatter, members lined up to buy raffle tickets and pay for their lunch, Donna Phillips was navigating through and around folks (only hitting a few) as she propelled herself in the wheel chair she was “driving”, food was being piled on plates in the buffet line and President Tom George’s (PTG) “walk-up” music was playing in the background.

All of this happened with the undertone of members knowing that we were missing one of own as club members had been informed that on Wednesday last, long time member Bob Peterson had passed away.
“I am saddened to report the passing of Bob Peterson, aged 97.
As you all know, Bob was thrilled to be a Rotarian, and couldn't wait to tell anyone who would listen about how wonderful every single Lakewood Rotarian was. Bob was grateful for every day and always had a smile to spread far and wide. For me, not only was he a great Rotarian, but he was the greatest teacher I ever had in school. And I'm not the only one to believe that. He loved his teaching career.
Our prayers go out to his family, and all who were lucky enough to know him.

Bob had a fall Sunday and broke his clavicle, but seemed to be recovering. He died peacefully in his bed at home Wednesday morning with most of his family there.
Services to be announced.”
