Once again, I will copy, plagiarize, or plainly “steal” from my friend, Greg Rediske’s “50 Years of Service & Fellowship”. When Lakewood Rotary began, it was an all-male organization. That is hardly surprising. Men were the bread-winners as a rule where most women stayed home caring for the children and the house the family lived in. In August of 1958, seventeen wives of Lakewood Rotarians held the first “Rotary Anns” meeting.
